Paul Harvey, the selfie champion of the Trackday Championship, will race a factory-supported Lada in the TCR UK Championship in 2022.
As part of the deal, the whole team will be supplied with Ray-Ban sunglasses for the rare occurrence it’s sunny during the TCR UK season.
Harvey, having been an average, mid-pack runner in the Trackday Trophy Championship, will contest a Lada in TCR UK in 2022 and 2023 before a three-year manufacture-backed program in the BTCC.
On the deal, Harvey said, “I am delighted that Ray Ban, Lada and Graves Motorsport can see my potential. I’m an avid fan of the Ray Ban sunglasses, I don’t always have to wear them but they make me look a bit cooler, I think. I’ve no idea what the Lada will be like, but I’ll send it regardless. The next two years should help me to progress and I plan to win the BTCC in my first year.”
Team manager David Graves said “We’re fairly happy to sign Paul, to be honest we’re more happy about getting some free sunglasses. We’re sure the Lada would be fast, but Paul will need some work.”
The team will start testing shortly after the April fools day in preparation for the start of the season next weekend at Oulton Park.
